40 years of Easy Living: A milestone in space-saving living

In 1985, Easy Living began as an all-round furniture shop on Ceintuurbaan in Amsterdam. What was then a broad collection of modern furniture soon grew into a specialist in sofa beds and folding beds. With the move to the Middenweg in 1990, this specialisation became permanent and Easy Living has been a household name in Amsterdam and far beyond ever since. This year, the shop is celebrating its 40th anniversary, a special one that underlines its rich history and successful future.

The shop was taken over by Jeroen Faber and Daniëlle Bergman in 2016, giving Easy Living a new generation of entrepreneurs. This family business is therefore built on a foundation of passion, craftsmanship and customer focus. Jeroen and Danielle have continued to develop Easy Living in recent years, with innovations in the showroom, an improved website and more efficient logistics processes. With now a team of eight employees and a warehouse in Edam, Easy Living remains committed to providing the best possible service and quality.

In a city like Amsterdam, where space is often scarce, Easy Living offers a solution. But several guest and work rooms throughout the Netherlands are also filled with a space-saving solution. People don't always want to have a bed in the room if you don't need it during the day! With more than 50 different sofa beds and 20 types of folding beds, there is a smart solution for every room.

Ease of use is key. The latest models can be transformed from a stylish sofa to a comfortable bed in an instant. The latest innovation? A fully electric foldaway bed. “We are not satisfied until everyone has an Easy Living sofa bed or folding bed in their home,” laughs Danielle.

The corona pandemic brought new challenges, but also opportunities. With the rise of working from home, the demand for multifunctional furniture grew. A folding bed that is a work table during the day and a comfortable bed at night? The perfect solution for the modern city dweller.

“In addition, people nowadays need to arrange their living space more intelligently and we can respond to that perfectly,” says Jeroen. With the tightness in the housing market, m2 sometimes needs to be used more efficiently and Easy Living always has good ideas for that!

Besides quality and innovation, service is one of Easy Living's spearheads. The in-house installation team ensures expert installation and customers appreciate the entire process, from advice in the showroom to installation at home.
