Buying a folding bed, what to look out for?

First of all, it is important to decide where the folding bed will be placed. You obviously need to know whether your new addition will fit in the room. Therefore, always measure the room first! Think not only about the width of the available wall, but also about the space that is available to unfold the bed. The ceiling height is also important. This is often forgotten, but it is also very important for folding out the bed.

You can then take the measurements with you during your visit to our showroom. Our advisers can then think with you about the options to ensure you choose a folding bed that fits your available measurements perfectly.

Depending on the measurements you have taken, we can quickly conclude whether it would be better for you if the bed folds out vertically or horizontally. Or maybe both options are possible for you! But what exactly is the difference between a horizontal or vertical folding bed?

Let's start with the horizontal version. In the case of a horizontal foldaway bed you lie along the wall and the space the foldaway bed takes up is wider than the mattress length. This model is suitable for longer narrow spaces, as the total space the foldaway bed needs when unfolding is quite small.

As second the vertical folding bed. In this variant, you lie with your head against the wall. The space the furniture takes up is about 15 to 20 cm wider than the mattress size. You will immediately notice that this version is less wide than the horizontal version. However, a vertical folding bed takes up more space when unfolded.

A multifunctional folding bed? Yes definitely, this variant is also possible! Some folding beds in fact, you can combine it with a desk or table and even a sofa! A folding bed is always handy, but it is also possible to combine two functions in one. During the day, for example, you can use the table to work or eat at, and when you want to go to bed in the evening, you simply pull out the bed. The table then automatically disappears under the bed.

At least we have now had all the species, but then comes the question, which colour?

You may not have known this, but you don't have to choose a standard colour with us, such as black, grey or white. If you want to order your folding bed in a cosy colour, this is often possible. Because pretty red is not ugly! Most of our foldaway beds are available in various looks and colours. So together, we can make sure that your new folding bed also fits perfectly into the interior!

This actually brings us to the last part. Is a folding bed suitable for sleeping on every night?

If you want to sleep on the foldaway bed every night, that's no problem at all! All our folding beds are high-end and feature strong quality. They are therefore very suitable (in combination with a good mattress, of course) for sleeping on every night. Will you have it by tomorrow?

This service is included as standard if you live on the mainland in the Netherlands. Our own fitters ensure that your foldaway bed is mounted safely and properly on your wall.
