Buying a sofa bed, what do I need to know?

Then a sofa bed is a perfect choice for you. However, buying a sofa bed is not an easy task. There are a number of things you should pay attention to and that are important to know. Of course, we will be happy to tell you about them in our showroom over a cup of coffee, but we would also like to give you a sneak preview via this blog.

Measuring is knowing, make sure you know how big the sofa bed should be!

Measurement = knowledge. It sounds so trite, but it certainly matters! Often enough, we still see people in our showroom who have forgotten to measure at home how big the place is where the sofa bed should be. To avoid disappointment and make your visit efficient, it's a good idea to visit us with the correct measurements of the room. Then don't just think about the width of the place, but also how much space there is to unfold the sofa bed. Logically; if the bed is folded out, the furniture will come further into the room and there should be enough room for that. We have over 50 different sofa beds in our showroom and our advisers know most of the dimensions by heart. It could just be that one centimetre will make one sofa bed fit and another not. So be prepared and we will be happy to help you choose the sofa bed that best fits the available space.

Buying a sofa bed? How will you use it?

If you want to buy a sofa bed, you probably have a good use for it too! During your visit to the showroom, we will ask how you are going to use the sofa bed; for example, are you going to sleep on it yourself every night or will it be used occasionally for a guest? Perhaps the sofa bed will be in the living room and you will sit on it yourself every day? Then it is important, for example, that you sit on it properly and that the sofa makes you happy when you walk into the living room. Help, can the sofa bed go in?!

Very nice of course, buying a sofa bed, but what we want to avoid at all times is being at your doorstep on the day of delivery with a sofa bed that does not go up. It is therefore very important for us to know where to deliver the sofa bed. This way, we are always sure that nothing can go wrong! However, we do not have the knowledge of your home, so it is very important that you think about this in advance. In general, most of our sofa beds can be delivered disassembled and therefore often go in anywhere. However, a sofa bed frame can just cause problems with narrow stairs with a sharp turn in them.
Do you have your own experience of it being difficult to get things to you upstairs or are you unsure about the accessibility of your home? Then record a video with your mobile phone beforehand in which you film the staircase(s) and take it with you to the showroom. By watching this, our advisers can then usually make a good assessment of whether it will work. Do you have a lift? Then we can usually get everything inside without any problems. If in doubt, take the dimensions of the lift with you.
If you want to use our moving lift, no problem! For a small surcharge, we can arrange this for you so that the sofa bed does not have to go over the stairs. For this, it is then again important that you measure the window through which the sofa bed would then have to go.
This is all precautionary, of course. As mentioned, most sofa beds available disassembled and we often have no problems. Logically, we will ensure that the sofa bed is returned to its destination assembled and leave you with a functioning sofa bed!

What colour do I want my sofa bed in?

Of course, it is very important that your new sofa bed fits into your interior! Most sofa beds are available in several fabrics and colours, but it is always good to think about your wishes beforehand! What colour should the sofa bed be and what kind of finishes were you thinking of? For example, do you have curtains or a floor to match? Then take a sample with you to our showroom. We won't be surprised if you visit our shop with a roll of wallpaper under your arm. In the end, it is important that the sofa bed adds value to your room and a well-chosen fabric and colour are important. That way, buying a sofa bed is even more fun!

Buying a sofa bed, how long is the delivery time?

You choose the sofa bed you are going to buy entirely according to your own requirements. This means that you choose in which bed size you want the sofa bed, in which fabric, with which legs, with which mattress, etc. This means that generally the sofa bed will be made to order for you and cannot be delivered immediately. So you will have to be patient. The delivery time varies per manufacturer. Of course, our advisers can give you information about this for each sofa.
