The folding bed features a sturdy and reliable mechanism that opens and closes smoothly and in a controlled manner thanks to the gas springs. This requires little force and makes the bed very pleasant to use every day. The slatted base offers good support and is suitable for a mattress with a maximum thickness of 18 cm. Using the fastening straps, the bedding stays neatly in place while folding. If you want to fold up the bed including the duvet, we recommend a slightly thinner mattress.
It is also possible to choose the Murphy foldaway bed with a bed length of 210 cm!
The Murphy foldaway bed is available in two different cabinet depths, namely 33 cm and 44.6 cm. The 33 cm deep version is ideal if you want to live as compactly as possible. The 44.6 cm deep version offers extra convenience; here it is possible to store pillows in the cupboard thanks to the brackets provided and you have a handy shelf at the head end of the bed.
The Murphy foldaway bed is available in various melamine colours as well as in different paint colours, so that the foldaway bed can be perfectly matched to your interior. The back wall of the foldaway bed is white as standard, but can be supplied in a different version at an extra charge.
It is possible to have the bed base in two parts at extra cost. This makes transport and installation easier, so the foldaway bed can almost always be brought inside without any problems. The Murphy folding bed is also available in a version without drawers at the bottom. This variant is particularly interesting if you have a very low ceiling. This is because the Murphy foldaway bed without drawers at the bottom is only 210.5 cm high.
