What is a good sofa bed?
A sofa bed You don't buy something just like that. You are looking for something that looks good in your interior and is really comfortable. Something that provides stylish seating during the day and smoothly transforms into a fully-fledged bed at night. But how do you know whether a sofa bed is suitable for everyday use or for occasional sleepovers?
At Easy Living, we don't believe in standard solutions. We believe in smart, comfortable choices that last for years. That is why we help you with expertise and an eye for your personal situation.
What makes a sofa bed really good?
The quality of a sofa bed depends on three factors. The mechanism, the mattress and the frame. A good sofa bed should be comfortable to sit on, pleasant to sleep on and last for years without any problems. The mechanism is perhaps the most important part of any sofa bed. It determines how smoothly and easily you can change from sofa to bed. The mattress ensures sleeping comfort and the frame guarantees stability.
With cheap sofa beds, you often see that the mechanism starts to falter after a year, the mattress sags or the frame becomes unstable. This will save you money in the short term, but in the long term it will cost you more because you will have to buy a new sofa bed sooner. Therefore, it is wise to invest in quality that is proven.

Which mechanism suits your new sofa bed?
The choice of mechanism depends entirely on how you are going to use the sofa bed. We distinguish four main categories. Do you sleep on your sofa bed every night? Then the Royal Mechanism is the only sensible choice. This mechanism is designed for daily use. The big advantage is that you do not have to remove the seat and back cushions. With one simple movement, you fold out a full-size bed with a nice mattress 14 to 20 cm thick.
The Royal Mechanism has a lying height between 50 and 54 cm, which is pleasant for getting in and out of bed. You can choose from different bed widths: 80, 115, 140, 160, 180 cm or even 2 x 80 cm for two separate mattresses. Some models even have storage space for blankets or pillows built into the sofa. The mattress can be folded together with the under sheet and flannel, which saves a lot of time.
Comfort Plus Mechanism for regular use
Do you regularly receive guests who stay for several days at a time? Or do you have a holiday home where you make intensive use of the sofa bed for several weeks a year? Then the Comfort Plus Mechanism is a good choice. It works just as easily as the Royal Mechanism, but is slightly less heavy-duty because it is not intended for daily use.
With this mechanism, you can opt for extra comfort by using a slatted base instead of a metal grid. Various mattresses are also available to further enhance sleeping comfort.
Comfort Mechanism for occasional use
Do you have the occasional guest staying overnight? Then the Comfort Mechanics an excellent choice. It works as quickly and easily as the Comfort Plus and Royal mechanisms, but is less heavy duty. For occasional use, this mechanism is perfect and always offers value for money.
Your guests will certainly not complain about the comfort. The mechanism is reliable and the mattress certainly provides enough support for a good night's sleep. The big advantage is the friendly price for a quality sofa bed that will last a long time.

Functional Mechanism for small spaces
Are you short on space or do you want to use the sofa bed mainly as a seat? Then the Functional Mechanics the right choice. These sofa beds take up the least space because the seating area becomes part of the bed. You have to perform slightly more operations to go from sofa to bed, but this is very easy.
These sofa beds are suitable for small flats, student rooms or as an extra seat in a study. The price is attractive and they are great for occasional use.
What else should you pay attention to?
Besides the mechanism, there are other factors that influence your choice. Consider the dimensions of your space, for sitting and for sleeping. Always measure carefully how much space you have when the sofa bed is unfolded.
Style and materials are also important. Most sofa beds come in different colours and materials to match your interior. Choose materials that are easy to clean, especially if you use the sofa bed regularly.
